Laws of the Domains

Post by Silarion »

BAVARIAN EAST MARCH
Ruled by Livia of Clan Ventrue
  • The Precept of Peace: no vampire may do violence to another vampire or their property save where the Prince or their dutiful proxy assents.
  • The Precept of Neutrality: no vampire may claim precedence because of greater age, closeness to the first vampire, or other quality of the blood, or because of residence within a certain domain, or membership of a certain faction, save where the Prince or their dutiful proxy rules such grants a greater insight.
  • The Precept of Hospitality: any vampire not reasonably passing through the domain, shall present themselves to the Prince within two weeks of first crossing the border.
  • The Precept of Accountability: where a vampire’s actions, or the actions of those over whom the Prince or their dutiful proxy considers they have authority or power, damage the domain—even without intent— they shall provide such recompense as the Prince or their dutiful proxy considers just.

EAST FRANCONIA
Ruled by Hildred Halliwell of Clan Brujah
  • Don't kill each other. Offenses that merit serious response should be brought before the court.
  • Visitors should present themselves at court. In order to receive appropriate hospitality.
  • Any grievance may be brought before the court, but the parties will abide by the Court's ruling.
  • Respect the mortals dwelling within the domain, and the Kindred who steward the parcels of the domain.
  • Be fair, be honest, and let your deeds speak for you.

MORAVIA
Ruled by Dark Selena of Clan Brujah
  • Loyalty to the Prince: Any act of treachery against the Prince will initiate a blood hunt. The Prince reserves the right to declare this sentence upon any who betrays her trust. The blood hunt will be immediate after the announcement. If the blood hunted survives the hunt, they have the right to apply to live in the court again. The Prince may or may not accept the application.
  • Sanctity of Domain: Every vampire must obtain express permission before entering another’s claimed territory. Unauthorised entry is deemed an act of provocation and may result in a trial.
  • Right of Destruction: The right to destroy a vampire is not exclusive to the Prince or the officers unless the Prince has declared a vampire under her protection. The court officers are by default under her protection unless stated otherwise. Violation of this protection will trigger a blood hunt against the aggressor.
  • Responsibility of Progeny: The right to sire progeny is broadly granted. Childe must prove to the Prince within fifty years of their embrace that they possess a valuable skill to the court. If they cannot demonstrate a skill it may lead to both the sire and the progeny being banned from residing within the court by the Prince.
  • Prohibition of Infernalism: Infernalism, or the practice of dealings with demonic entities, is strictly prohibited within the domain. Those found guilty of infernalism will be subjected to a blood hunt.
  • Dominion over Mortals: Vampires of the court are granted the prerogative to govern mortals as they see fit unless the Prince instructs otherwise.

ODENBURG
Ruled by Qaghan Yargui of Clan Gangrel
  • Do not take from the people of the steppe, be it their blood or their service. They are my kin and my blood and unless you share your ancestry with them, they are not for you. In time they shall grow numerous and strong, and when that time comes this law shall be struck out. The punishment for breaking this Yasa is death.
  • Understand and accept your place in this world. The mortal kin sustain you, so look after them and tend to them like you would to a flock. Cull it if and when needed, but do not take pleasure in inflicting pointless suffering. You have eternity of wisdom to offer to them, so be that well they can drink from, just as you drink from them. Take your place amongst them as the spirit they believe in. But do not mistake this for softness - should any stray or wish to do harm upon you or the land, show them no mercy and make them an example.
  • Worship your gods but do not expect all to venerate the same ones. My faith in the Sky and the Earth is the faith of Odenburg from now on, but it does not have to be your faith, for every land has grown with its own gods and spirits. Keep your faith living with you, and should you find yourself afflicted with its absence, seek a wiseman or a wisewoman to heal your soul.
  • There are no High or Low kindred in Odenburg, only the age is of great importance. Respect and obey your Elders until you come of age yourself.
  • Everyone must know their place. The flock nourishes our bodies and our souls while the kindred watch over and guide them, whether in manners or war, commerce or any other skill. Prove yourself to be the master of your craft to me and be rewarded. Perfect yourself and rise higher.
  • Mercy is for those who accept and submit. Sometimes hunger ravages our minds more than we can bear. Sometimes a costly mistake is made, a failure permitted to occur. Poor is the ruler who never shows mercy when it is warranted, for he shall quickly lose his subjects and their respect. But those who fail to learn or those who harbour treachery shall be shown none.
  • If you have a grievance with another kindred, all actions are permitted but not death. That shall be decided by the Qaghan
  • We are one, united by the common goal. Whether it's an oath soaked in blood or not, you are my arms, my eyes and my heart. Have your ambitions, have your desires. But they end when the land is in need and we all rise as one, whether to protect or attack as I command.
  • Present yourself to the Qaghan within the first nine nights.
